Brand of dehumidifier
by: Bob

Hi Tony,
As a long time DIY guy I have developed an operating theory as how to choose which brand or model of any object to buy. I also apply the same principle when hiring contractors to do work for me. It goes like this: the most expensive item or service to purchase is one that is not going to do the job you wanted it too. Granted there are exceptions to most rules but this approach has served me well for many years. After tons of research into which dehumidifier would best serve my purpose I settled on the Santa Fe Advance. Then as I interviewed installers I got some bad advice as to the method of installation I wanted to use. After finding this web site and calling the manufacturer's free advice line I was convinced that my installation plan was a good one. Next I hired a contractor who agreed to install my machine and duct work as I had planned. My system has been up and running for three weeks now and I couldn't be happier. My machine is located in my attached garage and ducted through the common cinder block wall, supply and return. This location makes it easy to change filters, change fan mode if desired, and generally keep an eye on it.
Thank goodness for this website which helped me so much! As for the cost of the Santa Fe unit, when you factor in things like free shipping, excellent service, very good product history, and the fact that "Silvane" agreed to a discount in their price as our neighbor placed an order at the same time, the price was much more reasonable. I unhesitatingly endorse the Santa Fe, and I hope you have good luck with your dehumidifier.
Sincerely,
Bob
